Happy Holiday

Happy Labour Day!Or, as I like to call it, "happy reminder that as a parent you never get a holiday day"Now many pastors and people will relate today's holiday to the importance of rest, sabbath, taking time for yourself (and there is absolutely nothing wrong with this) but as I sit here during my favourite time of day (bedtime) there is no possible way I can muster up any words about rest and relaxation because those are just two words that have been removed from my vocabulary. However, I have learned very quickly that this call that God has placed in my life, this call to be mommy to Maverick and Asher and wife to Daniel is the MOST important call He has placed on my life. I am in charge of raising two humble, strong, kind and handsome boys to grow into men who will change the world and follow Jesus. I am in charge of supporting, loving, pushing and challenging my husband so he can continue to work for God. Yes, I take care of myself and even squeeze in a shower here and there but if I miss that extra hour of sleep or my sabbath happens a few minutes everyday instead of one whole day of rest that's ok because I have the honour and privilege of raising His boys and supporting His son.So if you are like me and your day was full of bugs, dirt and farts (yup I said it) and not a whole lot of rest relaxing and you time - know that God will still sustain you to do the work that he has placed in your life. Maybe you don't have crazy kids but we all have ministry opportunities right if front of us that cause us to give a little more and take a little less.Wishing you all (and me) lots of rest but more importantly lots of joy![wpvideo OcHoT7yu]
